Matching Tradition

Reverend and Mrs. Moon, known to us as the True Parents, started the beautiful tradition of Matching. In this tradition, the individual looking for a life partner puts his or her trust in God, the Heavenly Parent, and focuses first on becoming a mature, loving individual. They can then find someone with whom to build an eternal loving relationship with with the support of their parents and/or a matching supporter (supporters trained in supporting singles both spiritually and practically).
There is a specific process designed to include God in every step of this journey towards building a beautiful and lasting marriage, blessed by God. New single candidates, known as First Generation candidates, who wish to be matched and blessed within our community can seek a partner and go through the heavenly courtship process with the guidance and support of a matching supporter. Those born to already blessed couples, here known as Second Plus Generation (Second+ Gen, 2+ Gen), go through the matching process together with their parents and can, if they wish, also receive the support of a matching supporter.
