“I have been working and training since 2019 to answer suicide prevention calls and online chat with people that are in danger of hurting themselves or others. I continue to educate myself to stay updated on the latest knowledge about suicide risk and reason for people to think of committing suicide.

Method SOS use is seeing, supporting and strengthening peoples’ feelings and needs. Suicide research prove the reason for suicide is complex and there are several risk factors involved.

Some risk factors for suicide are:

  • psychological sickness,

  • experiences of loss,

  • loneliness,

  • physical disabilities,

  • existential crises,

  • substance abuse,

  • sexual abuse in childhood,

  • gay/lesbian orientation.

Unfortunately for some people the solution they see, is to end their life. I have been trained to stay in the darkness of the situation and work together to see if there could be another option. Look to see if we can find a light to hold on to, a possible change for a better solution. When one finds themselves in total darkness it is important to see, support and strengthen that experience.

To have that support from someone that can tolerate the darkness is important, because in the darkness there is always a light. I will always make myself available and put a priority to these calls.

I have a broad education background and I continue to build on that foundation to stay educate to the need and currents of our time.”
